Privacy

Any email addresses submitted to the programme item suggestions database will only be used for canvassing potential panellists, and will not be made available to the general public.

Suggested panellists' names will also not be made visible next to panels unless they have confirmed willingness to participate. Panels do show the claimed name of the panel suggester, but don't put too much faith in that as it's not authenticated.

IP addresses are recorded in the access logs, but not associated with any personal information. We do, however, also keep IP addresses of votes for and against panel items to reduce the incidence of ballot stuffing. (Multiple votes are allowed per household because we acknowledge that people share internet connections. Providing a hard limit of one vote per person per panel would require a prohibitively heavy handed authentication procedure, so we don't do that).
